Fictional Characters That Would Be Great Puzzlers 🧵

You've been invited to the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championship, which fictional character are you choosing to be your puzzle partner? Think dream dinner party guests with a jigsaw puzzle on the table.

I love a good puzzle and the thrill of solving one, you could label me puzzle mad. I've even wondered which fictional character would make the best puzzle partner for me, just like how we all have dream dinner party guests. Yes, I may have too much time on my hands. 😅 But that's exactly why I love puzzling, it keeps my racing thoughts at bay. I've compiled a list of some of the most brilliant minds in film, TV, and literature who would excel at solving any jigsaw puzzle, no matter the piece count.

1. Lisbeth Salander (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo)

Lisbeth Salander from the Millennium series would make a good puzzler because of her intelligence, determination, and ability to think outside the box. She is a masterful computer hacker and researcher, which gives her a unique perspective and set of skills for solving puzzles. She also has a keen attention to detail and is able to connect seemingly unrelated pieces of information to solve mysteries.

Mikael Blomkvist: What are you doing?

Lisbeth Salander: Reading your notes.

Mikael Blomkvist: They're encrypted!

Lisbeth Salander: [Looks up at him] Please.

2. Sergeant Nicholas Angel (Hot Fuzz)

Sergeant Nicholas Angel from the British comedy-action film Hot Fuzz would make a great jigsaw puzzle partner because of his tenacity, attention to detail, and ability to think logically. He is a highly trained and dedicated police officer, who is known for his exceptional detective skills and ability to solve complex cases. Furthermore, he possesses a fierce determination that would cause him to persist in solving a jigsaw puzzle until it is fully solved.

Joyce Cooper: Fascist!

Nicholas Angel: I beg your pardon?

Nicholas Angel: Oh, I see. It's "fascism." [pause] Hag!

Joyce Cooper: I beg your pardon?

Nicholas Angel: Evil old woman, considered frightful or ugly, 12 down.

3. Beth Harmon (The Queen's Gambit)

Beth Harmon from the novel and Netflix series The Queen's Gambit would make an excellent jigsaw puzzle-solver because of her natural aptitude for strategy and her ability to think several moves ahead. She is a gifted chess player, who has a deep understanding of the game and is able to anticipate her opponents' moves. Her exceptional memory allows her to recall and analyse past games, which will give her a competitive advantage in solving jigsaw puzzles.

4. Petyr Baelish (Game of Thrones)

Petyr Baelish also known as Littlefinger from the Game of Thrones series would be a puzzle pro because of his cunning, intelligence and ability to manipulate situations to his advantage. He is a master of political manoeuvring and has a deep understanding of the inner workings of the court, his attention to detail and ability to pick up on subtle clues would make him excel in solving jigsaw puzzles that have intricate or subtle details.

Littlefinger: Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, are given a chance to climb. They refuse, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.

5. Michael Scofield (Prison Break)

Michael Scofield from the television series Prison Break would be a jigsaw puzzle expert because of his intelligence, resourcefulness, and attention to detail. He is a highly skilled and intelligent engineer, who is able to think critically and come up with creative solutions for even the most impossible puzzles - like escaping a supermax prison. 😅 He is able to analyse situations and identify patterns and connections, which would be useful in solving jigsaw puzzles.

6. Dr. Kenzō Tenma (Monster)

Dr. Kenzō Tenma from the manga and anime Monster is an accomplished and dedicated neurosurgeon, who is able to think critically while under immense pressure such as performing brain surgery. Tenma's experience as a neurosurgeon would be an advantage when solving a jigsaw puzzle, as it requires to pay attention to details, be patient and persistent.

8. Logan Roy (Succession)

Logan Roy, the patriarch of the Roy family and main character in the critically acclaimed HBO series Succession, may not seem like the obvious choice for a jigsaw puzzle partner at first glance.
